We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities designed to support the health, enrichment, and well-being of the animals in our care. No matter your interests or experience level, there's a place for you here.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

We're currently welcoming volunteers into the following roles, with more opportunities coming soon.

Canine Companion

Canine Companions are responsible for providing daily exercise and enrichment for dogs awaiting adoption. The primary goal is to ensure each dog receives at least two 15-minute walks per day. This role involves safely handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments, adhering to designated walking routes, and monitoring dogs for any signs of illness, distress, or unusual behavior.

Canine Support

Canine Support Volunteers are responsible for performing cleaning and support tasks to maintain a healthy, comfortable environment for the dog department. Their primary tasks are washing dishes, doing laundry, and making enrichment items. This role does not involve any animal handling.

Feline Friend

Feline Friends are responsible for providing daily socialization and enrichment for cats awaiting adoption. Their primary goal is to ensure that each cat receives opportunities to engage in play, exercise, and enrichment daily. This role involves safely handling cats of various temperaments and monitoring cats for any signs of illness, distress, or unusual behavior.

Feline Support

Feline Support Volunteers are responsible for performing cleaning and support tasks to maintain a healthy, comfortable environment for the cat department. Their primary tasks are washing dishes, doing laundry, and making enrichment items. This role does not involve any animal handling.

Medical Assistant

Medical Assistants play a vital role in supporting the health of shelter pets and community cats by assisting the Medical Team with essential daily duties that don't involve direct animal handling. This position focuses on administrative tasks, cleaning and organizing medical supplies, preparing workspaces, and supporting the smooth flow of medical services. Volunteers in this role help ensure the team can work efficiently and safely, contributing to high-quality care for the animals without directly handling them.

Getting Started

All volunteers begin with an orientation and required training specific to their role. Some positions may require additional training or experience before advancing.
