Volunteer With Us

Volunteers are the heart of the Humane Society of Sarasota County. Our volunteers generously give their time and talents, enabling HSSC to save lives and expand vital services for animals and our community. With the many resources required to provide compassionate care, fulfilling our mission as the area’s premier no-kill shelter would be impossible without their dedication and support.

We are currently in the process of upgrading our volunteer software, which means new volunteer sign-ups are temporarily unavailable. The good news? This transition should be completed in just a few days. We’re incredibly excited to welcome new volunteers and can’t wait for you to join our lifesaving work—please check back soon. We promise it will be worth the wait!

Once sign-ups reopen, volunteer opportunities will include dog walking, feline friends, animal care support (such as laundry, dishes, and enrichment), information representatives, administrative support, medical assistance, retail store support, pet pantry support, events, matchmaking, and TNVR support—including volunteer trapping.
