Lifesaving Statistics

The Humane Society of Sarasota County is committed to transparency in all aspects of our organization. We track all incomes and outcomes for the animals in our shelter and report our lifesaving statistics monthly to Shelter Animals Count as well as and Best Friends Shelter Pet Data Alliance.

HSSC has proudly operated as a a no-kill shelter since 2009 and annually achieves a Save Rate of over 90%. We are proud to be a no-kill shelter and are proactively working to make Florida a no-kill state. Together, we save lives.
