WOW! That's a wrap on the first-ever Faux Paws on the Catwalk! Friday, November 12, was a glittery afternoon filled with sparkle, color, pet hair, and lifesaving fun. HSSC's modern shelter was transformed into a pink-purple-and-teal wonderland. Guests' ensembles ranged from chic to delightfully tacky—all in honor of the "faux paws" theme. Allison Werner, Donna Koffman, and Umbreen Khalidi-Majeed squared off to see who was the belle of the ball, with Allison taking home the "Most Fabulous Award." Meanwhile, Stacie Baer was the lucky winner of the gorgeous diamond and mother-of-pearl necklace, graciously donated by June Simmons Jewelry. The wine and White Claws were flowing, with special thanks to "Hot Guy" Rob Boyland of Cathead Distillery for kicking in spirits for the welcome cocktail. Hot Guys Boyland, JR Lallemand, Justin Johnson, and Carmen Delle Donne, plus Hot Girl, Rachael Zucker, had fun talking and posing for selfies with guests. Their hotness was matched only by the cuteness of the adoptable cats and dogs and pet therapy teams, who were pawsitively charming. Some of them, like Ava, even had starring roles in the fashion mockumentary, "FAUXTOGRAPHY: The Search for America's Next Top Pawdel," which had everyone laughing before the event transitioned into the "Raise Your Paw" fundraising portion. Generosity was in abundance, with auctioneer Vallye Adams of Alpert Enterprises leading guests to contribute more than $37,000 in mere minutes. All proceeds from this fabulous event will be used to support the Humane Society of Sarasota County's mission. The real" Paws on the Catwalk Luncheon will return on April 8, 2022, so save the date.
