Nonprofit organizations typically receive 30% of their annual giving in the month of December, with 10% in just the last three days of the year. HSSC is no exception. The support of generous people like you is so crucial to helping our organization fulfill our lifesaving mission. We have already found homes for over 1,500 dogs and cats this year. That’s 1,500 animals who are resting comfortably in their furever homes this holiday season. But there is still work to do. There is always one more dog with a tragic backstory. One more litter of motherless kittens in need of round-the-clock care. One more senior pet who can’t understand why he’s been abandoned. This is the work we do at HSSC. We could not do it without you. We hope you will find it in your hearts to make a donation this season.
HSSC is part of an elite group of charities with a Perfect 100 score from Charity Navigator, America's premier independent charity evaluator. Less than one percent of the thousands of charities rated by Charity Navigator have earned perfect scores. HSSC is one of only two animal-welfare shelters in Florida (and the only one of any category of nonprofit in Sarasota County) to receive a perfect score. HSSC has also received a four-star rating for three consecutive years. You can trust that your donations are being used wisely. See the list of Perfect 100 Charities.
We’ve made our list and checked it twice, and we came up with 25 Ways of Holiday Giving. We hope these 25 Ways will inspire you to support the Humane Society of Sarasota County—the area’s premier no-kill shelter—and to make this holiday season a memorable one.
