Sometimes it takes a while for an animal's true personality to emerge. When Dante arrived at the Humane Society of Sarasota County (HSSC), he was sad and withdrawn. This stunning red-and-tan husky mix had been surrendered by his original owner—through no fault of his own—to an overcrowded county shelter in Texas. Scared, lonely, and suffering from heartworm disease and ringworm, Dante needed a fresh start and a place to call home. He got that opportunity when he was transported to HSSC.
Thanks to your support of the Humane Society of Sarasota County, we can be there for homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals in need like Dante.
It's heartbreaking to think about what happens in the lives of animals to make them homeless. Our energy is better spent on making sure they never have to be homeless again. There are no time or space limits for animals that come HSSC. Every adoptable animal stays with us until we can find them a new, forever home.
Dante came from a crowded Texas shelter. Although he had heartworm disease and ringworm, his stunning beauty was undeniable.
We treated Dante's heartworm and ringworm, and it wasn't long before his sweet, lovable side (and his tongue!) started to show. Soon after, he was adopted. His new family says he has brightened up their lives so much. Dante now has the forever home he deserves.
Fully recovered, Dante now spends his days traveling with his family and loving life.
Your support means so much to us … but it means the most to the animals who are served by your generosity. With your support, you'll continue to help save the lives of homeless and abandoned animals in our community and help us Bring Love Home.
