YOU'VE GOT TO BE 'KITTEN' ME!
Ernest Hemingway famously said, "One cat just leads to another."
At HSSC, we see no problem with that! Over the past couple of months, you have likely noticed a shift in our animal population. We now have more cats in care than ever before. There is a reason for that. Nationally, 51% of animals entering shelters are dogs and 49% are cats. But tragically, 2 out of 3 animals euthanized in shelters are cats. For Florida to be a no-kill state, we must focus our programs on saving cats and kittens.
So naturally, to celebrate National Adopt a Shelter Cat Month, we adopted out more cats in June than we ever have before! As of today, 84 cats and kittens are now living their best lives in their new homes. But June is not over yet and we'd like to reach a goal of 100 cat adoptions this month! Our "Black Tie Affair" cat promotion starts Tuesday, June 29-30 and is designed to give our tiny house panthers the attention they need to be adopted. If you've overlooked black cats or kittens before, you are missing out on your only opportunity in life to live with a house panther.
