Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers play a huge role in the success of The Humane Society of Sarasota County.  Volunteers help in countless ways, from socializing animals to providing public relations at fundraising events.

Here are just a few of the incredible volunteer opportunities available at The Humane Society of Sarasota County:

Feline Friend:
Provide enrichment along with companionship to shelter felines to maintain their health and well-being while in our care.

K-9 Companion:
Provide enrichment and training, along with companionship to our canines through mental and physical activities.

Matchmaker:
Help potential adopters find their perfect pet.

Community Outreach Events:
Represent the shelter and assist with offsite adoption events as well as promotions and fundraisers.

Doggie Bank Program:
Place and manage Doggie Banks in local businesses to with help raise donations for our shelter pets.

Administrative:
Provide support for the day-to-day office tasks including data entry, answering phones and other necessary tasks.

Maintenance/Cleaning:
Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of our buildings and grounds.
